October 2024 – Aging, Disability & Transit Services (ADTS)

Aging, Disability & Transit Services (ADTS)

Aging, Disability & Transit Services (ADTS) recently celebrated 50 years of service in Rockingham County. In 1973, ADTS, then known as the Rockingham County Council on Aging, was formed to assist older adults with accessing information and community resources. Today, ADTS employs nearly 300 staff county-wide and provides services to more than 14,000 people annually. ADTS offers a full range of community services including nationally accredited and individualized personal care services; home-delivered and group senior nutrition programs; structured daytime and respite support through our dually licensed adult day health/ daycare program; safe and reliable coordinated public access transportation; coordinated case management services; and an array of advocacy, referral, and caregiver support services. While our services have grown substantially over time, ADTS has never lost sight of our purpose: to promote the independence and dignity of older adults and help our neighbors remain healthy, secure, and involved at home and in the community for as long as possible. With a rapidly expanding population of older adults, the demand for services that support independence in the community is greater now than ever before. We are honored to be recognized as the Eden Chamber of Commerce’s Member of the Month and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together!
