August 2024 – Spray Mercantile

The Spray Mercantile Building was built in 1882, with several additions added in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The Spray Mercantile store operated in the original (existing) building from the 1890's until 1976, when the building was sold to the Ray family. The court room for the area was located on the 2nd floor of the building from he 1890's until the early 1950's. In 1983, the additions to the original building were removed and the original building was renovated by Spray Cotton Mills and used by Spray Cotton Mills for its office operations until 2006. In 2007, Spray Mercantile, LLC purchased the building and began renting office and shop space to local businesses. Mark Bishopric is the manager of Spray Mercantile, LLC. Currently the building has eight different tenants that occupy different parts of the building.
